Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of climate literacy and gain an understanding of how human activities impact Earth’s living things and natural patterns. Students will discuss topics such as renewable energy, biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, sustainable transportation, and sustainable lifestyles. Students will learn that Climate Change requires both ADAPTATION of human systems and MITIGATION of human impacts at all levels.
The program presents the challenging topic of Climate Change to students in a way that cultivates Compassion and Awareness, and empowers students for debate, sustainable choices, and responsible decisions. The program includes interactive activities and lesson extensions, and ideas for involvement in environmental advocacy and stewardship.
