“I had an enjoyable day volunteering with Oakvillegreen. It was great learning about the threats to biodiversity in my own community and being able to make a direct impact. The staff running Oakvillegreen were also incredibly friendly, and it is clear they are passionate in making a difference."
“I really enjoyed my experience with Oakvillegreen - I didn't have much previous knowledge on invasive species, and wasn't aware of buckthorn at all being such a threat to urban forests. I enjoyed the explanation of why it was a threat and the demonstration of safe removal, and it was a really great way to connect with other (colleagues) while doing some great work for the community. Finally, Karen and Ben were so helpful and great to chat with - they provided great information about Oakvillegreen and made sure we were staying safe in the sun on a hot day!! Again - super enjoyable and a great way to give back.”
