Yesterday at Pelee Woods the Oakville TreeKeepers program officially launched! A huge thank you to all who came out and participated – we planted approx. 400 trees and continued with buckthorn removal at this site. Among those in attendance was MP Pam Damoff who showed her support for urban forest stewardship in Oakville.
Also a huge thank you to Holy Trinity high school students who helped prepare the site at Pelee Woods for planting, Whole Foods for providing snacks, and Oakville Blueprinting for donating some of our marketing materials!
This week will be a busy one for Oakville TreeKeepers! A corporate group will be planting trees on Thursday at Glen Oaks Trail followed by a public invasive species removal and tree planting on Saturday at Perkins Passage (Trafalgar & Cornwall area). If you had a great time at Pelee Woods come out to Perkins Passage on Saturday from 9am- noon! Snacks will be provided 🙂 More info including a map is available here on our event page.
