We are thrilled to announce that Oakvillegreen president Liz Benneian has been selected as the 2009 national recipient of Earth Day Canada's Hometown Hero Award.

Liz was honoured at a gala at The Drake Hotel in Toronto on June 10 2009. Liz was selected by a highly-respected panel of judges and from approximately 100 Canada-wide nominees.
Receiving the Outstanding Commitment to the Environment Award at the event was author and well-known environmentalist Maude Barlow, chairperson of the Council of Canadians who is the first person to be appointed special advisor on water issues to the President of the United Nations.
