Growing Milkweed & Other Native Plants Workshop
February 25 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pmFree
Join Oakvillegreen and the Oakville Public Library Seed Library at the Iroquois Ridge Branch, Creation Zone for this seedy workshop!
Try an easy, fun, and inexpensive way to grow lots of milkweed and other native perennials from seed. Using the ‘winter sowing’ method seeds are planted in mini-greenhouses made from recycled household plastic containers which are placed outdoors in the winter. Seeds germinate in the spring and are garden-ready by summer. Winter sowing works for seeds that require a period of cold stratification. A great way to get started growing your own native plants for pollinators!
Space limited. Pre-registration required.
