Petition To Support A Clear-Cutting Bylaw For Oakville

I am concerned about the continuing loss of mature trees in our urban forest and the negative impact this has both on our environment and on our property valuews. Therefore I support Oakville implementing a Clear Cutting Bylaw that will stop clear cutting of trees on private properties. Further I support Council's suggestion that protection should be extended to heritage trees and endangered species. However, homeowners should not be penalized for being good stewards of their property and therefore no fees should be required for the removal of dead, dying or hazardous trees or trees that must be removed to permit the building of pools or additions.
