Congratulations to our Spring 2016 Mulchfest Winners!

Posted on Updated on

Last spring 11 Oakville schools did an amazing job and got their trees and beds mulched.  Small actions make a big difference and we are positive that all those plants were very thankful during our dry summer.

Schools then posted pictures of their hard work on social media and entered a draw to win money that will be used to “green” their schools.  Thanks to Whole Foods Oakville who donated the prizes through their One Dime at a Time program; we are super happy and excited to announce the winners today.

Congratulations  to our Spring 2016 Mulchfest winners! White Oaks Secondary School and Heritage Glen Public School.

White Oaks Secondary School (Mrs. Christina Annis’s class)

Heritage Glen Public School (some students from grade 6-1 with Mrs. Thompson)

Both schools will be using the money to increase and enhance green areas in their school yards.

It does not seem like fall, but we want to make sure Oakville trees are ready for the winter, so we are getting ready to mulch trees next week during our Fall Mulchfest. Stay tuned so you don’t miss all those posts on social media and more winners with great projects!

Keep up the green work Oakville!
